I Love the Lord is a highly rhythmic, linear piece that combines English with Latin translations.  A darker sounding, more solemn "Praise to the Lord" than other composers might have set this text to, I Love the Lord speaks of the Omnipotence and Sovereignty of the Lord; the Lord whom we should fear.  The accompanying organ gives this work an extra sense of urgency and power. 

 

Relying heavily on the triplet quarter note rhythm and fugue-like structures, I Love the Lord is a challenging, but rewarding piece the audience is sure to enjoy.  A great opener.
