 Sanctus is a single movement, ternary work that triumphantly declares the sovereignty of God. The rhythmic 5/8 drive of the opening Sanctus melody with timpani, strings and chorus pushes toward a serenely angelic statement of the "Pleni Sunt Coeli" text beneath high strings, ending with a powerful and glorious "Osanna in Excelsis!"

Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts. Heaven and earth are filled with thy glory. Hosanna in the highest!
